GALLERY POLICY/FAQ ___
You may have some questions about the scans gallery; or you could be reading this out of courtesy. If this is your first time visiting [DIS], then this section of the site would be quite helpful to you.
 

Using the scans:
We don't mind you using our scans. However, we understand that scans are used in so many different ways; so please abide by the following:

  • ICONS & LAYOUTS
    You may use our scans to make icons/avatars, or layouts for your blog/LJ. But please credit our website with a link on your icon post. In the case of layouts, credit us in your information column. A text link will do fine, if you don't want to use the link buttons provided.
  • POSTING IMAGES
    If you want to post the images on your BBS/forum, blog etc., please email us for permission before you do. In your email, it would be nice if you could include a link to the website you are going to post the images at. After all, it takes time for us to scan, edit, label and upload these images; the least you could do is let us know where the scans are going. (Also, it helps us make sure you're not direct-linking.)
 

Direct-linking / Hot-linking:
Please don't. If you don't know what direct-linking is, basically when you post a picture from our website onto your blog or LJ or whatever, your image tag should not have a viskdis or viskdis2 anywhere in it. In fact, you should be uploading the image(s) onto your own server (there are services like Photobucket and ImageShack, so not having your server is not an excuse).

 
Archives:
The archives are there to save space on our Photobucket accounts. The ViSKORG domain doesn't have a lot of space, and we're not about to ask you people for donations, therefore we're turning to as many free uploading services as possible.
Nonetheless, you may request for re-uploads. Just email us with the magazine title and month, and we'll upload a link to download a zip of the whole set of scans with the next update.
Please let us know if you prefer *.zip or *.rar files - if unspecified, we'll use *.rar files.
Also, please keep your requests to three files max. And don't try to fool us with multiple emails, we're not that dumb.
 
Image size:
We use Photobucket to upload our images for convenience, but Photobucket tends to resize images if they get too big. As such some of the images can turn up really small. Please do not email us to complain about this; we're only a fansite, not a graphic resource site. If you want the set of scans in large size, you can also email us, and we'll upload them for you.
